Greeting and Seating Guests: Welcome guests as they arrive at the restaurant, provide a warm and friendly greeting, and escort them to their tables. Pay attention to special requests and seating preferences.
Reservations Management: Maintain a reservation book or system to keep track of reservations, allocate tables, and manage waitlists during busy times.
Communication: Serve as the first point of contact for guests, answering questions, providing information about the restaurant, and assisting with any inquiries.
Coordinating with Waitstaff: Communicate with the waitstaff to ensure a smooth flow of service and to ensure that tables are prepared for the next guests.
Maintaining a Clean and Organized Host Stand: Keep the host stand and waiting area tidy and organized. Ensure that menus and promotional materials are available and up to date.
Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service by being attentive to guests' needs, handling guest complaints or issues, and ensuring a positive experience.
Teamwork: Collaborate with restaurant management and other staff members to create a cohesive and efficient work environment.
Assisting with Special Events: Hostesses may be asked to assist with special events, parties, and large groups, ensuring that they are accommodated appropriately.
Cash Handling: Some hostesses may be responsible for handling cash, processing payments, and managing the cash register.
