As a Demi Chef at Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel you are part of a team that shapes the culinary experience of our guests. In this role, you will master the art of delivering an exceptional gastronomic experience. If you’re looking to develop your skills and be part of the future of luxury, this is your moment.

·         Prepare pastries, desserts, bread, and other bakery items from scratch following traditional recipes or as directed by the Pastry Chef.

·         To supervise the work and training of in-house trainees in the section as required.

·         Maintaining quality and quantity control in all aspects, from portion control to freshness of the product presented.

·         Plating and presenting meal items as per the seniors’ instructions as well as judging the quality of raw material & providing quality finished products.

· Assist with deliveries, stock rotation as well as restocking items in the section as required.

·         A certification from a reputable culinary school specialising in pastry is highly desirable.

·         Experience working in a professional kitchen; previous experience working with pastries is preferred.

· Knowledge of various pastry techniques (baking, decoration) is essential. Must be passionate about pastry and continuously maintain high standards of quality and service.
