Job Description

Novotel Madrid Campo de las Naciones is seeking a dynamic and motivated Hotel Management Intern to join our team for a 12-month internship, starting in September / October 2024. 

This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in hotel management, particularly in the context of a major transformation and renovation project.

The intern will work closely with the Hotel Director and play a crucial role in the merger and rebranding of Novotel Madrid Campo de las Naciones with Pullman Madrid Airport & Feria, contributing significantly to the hotel's operational, financial, and branding initiatives.

Key responsibilities:

1. Transformation and Renovation Support:

  • Assist in coordinating renovation activities, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  • Collaborate with contractors, designers, and project managers to ensure the renovation is on schedule and within budget.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of the merger process with the adjoining hotel.

2. Branding and Rebranding:

  • Work with the marketing team to develop and implement branding strategies.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of rebranding campaigns to establish the new identity of the merged hotel.
  • Conduct market research to understand customer preferences and integrate findings into the rebranding strategy.

3. Team Management:

  • Support the Hotel Director in managing staff during the renovation phase, ensuring clear communication and team cohesion.
  • Assist in organizing training programs to familiarize staff with new processes and standards post-renovation.
  • Help in developing team-building activities to boost morale and engagement.

4. Financial Management:

  • Assist in the preparation and analysis of the hotel's Profit and Loss (P&L) statements.
  • Contribute to the development of business plans and financial forecasts for the renovated and merged hotel.
  • Participate in budget planning and cost control measures during the renovation.

5. Operational Support:

  • Gain exposure to daily hotel operations, including front desk management, guest services, and housekeeping.
  • Help identify operational inefficiencies and suggest improvements.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with health, safety, and hotel regulations during the renovation period.

 

Qualifications

  • Currently finishing or recently completed a degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in hotel management and hospitality industry.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Fluent in English and a good command of Spanish (any other languages such French will be highly valued).
