Job Brief
The Porter/ Driver has the main responsibility to enhance the customers experience and exceed guest exceptions by providing them with an outstanding first and last impression.
JOB SUMMARY:
His main duty is to drive guests around the resort using club cars/rickshaws carefully and in line with Hotel’s policies and regulations. He is also responsible to deliver messages, luggage and parcels to guests.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities and duties for this position shall include, but not limited to the following areas and activities. At management discretion, direction may be given for tasks outside the scope of work described.
Guest Satisfaction:
- To report for duty as per the rota, clean and tidy wearing the correct attire and name badge.
- To observe all company rules and regulations as regards to attitude, behaviour, health, safety and security.
- To perform any others duties as may be assigned by the Senior Porter or de Chef Concierge.
- To inform management about guest’s arrival and departure.
- Assist other department when required.
- To ensure all customers’ requests are handle quickly and efficiently.
- To activate a quick response to a guest problem, and then follow up to ensure the guest is satisfied with the end result.
- To at all time set an example within the department regarding deportment, attitude and professionalism.
- Help guest with restaurant reservations outside and inside the resort.
- Arrange tour / excursions for guest / car hire.
- Ensure enough beach towels stock at lower reception and monitor it.
- Ensure that lobby area, luggage room, departure lounge, entrance, furniture and equipment are always kept clean and neat at all times.
- Deliver luggage, message, and parcel in a timely manner.
- Drive, maintain club car according to hotel policy.
Administrative Performance:
- To be actively involved with the recycling of paper materials within the work place.
- Report to FOM any irregularities related to Limousine and club car.
- Ensure Limousine is clean and tidy at all time.
Environmental Awareness:
- To comply with all company and local laws regarding, Fire, Health and safety procedure.
- To participate in any training sessions of the aforementioned.
- To report and follow up any defects with equipment within the work environment.
- To ensure all fire entrances and stairways are clean tidy and assessable.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
Qualification:
- Middle or Secondary Education + Additional training or certificates in the relevant field.
Experience:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in hotel industry.
- Proven experience working in a top luxury resorts.
- Experience working in remote island locations is a plus.
Technical skills:
- Cleaning expertise.
- Physical stamina.
- Attention to detail.
- Time management.
- Interpersonal skills.
- Fluency in English and another language, written and verbal communication.
- Knowledge of a third language is a plus.
